LGBTQ+ rights

what is the issue?

Although LGBTQ+ rights have improved over time, there is still a lot more Australia can do to improve.

Australians that identify as something other than straight or cisgender still face many forms of homophobia and transphobia in public and online. This is hugely important for many people as a large percentage of Australians identify as LGBTQ+.

our policy

Our policy will ensure that there is increased focus on the rights of people in the LGBTQ+ community.

We will provide better healthcare for transgender or non-binary people. We promise to keep conversion therapy banned, and we will also keep LGBTQ+ marriage legal.

We will also be preserving adoption rights for LGBTQ+ couples. Love is love, and a family is a family!

We will also incorporate helplines for people in the LGBTQ+ community. The su*cide rates for those who identify as LGBTQ+ are immensely higher than those who identify as straight or cisgender.

Our party promises to allow everyone to have the right to live freely no matter their sexuality, race or gender.

how does our policy help?

Over 3.5% of Australia's population identify as LGBTQ+. They make up a significant portion of our society, hence why rights are required. We want Australia to be a safe place for everyone, not just people outside of minority groups.
