oil fracking ban

what is the issue?

Oil fracking can have a hugely negative impact on the earth, even with rigorous safety regulations. Just a few of the many consequences include things such as poisoning groundwater, polluting surface water, and threatening wildlife and landscapes.

The Northern Territory is one of the driest places in the world in the summer months, and the population relies heavily on groundwater to function as a society in the hotter seasons.

Oil fracking could seriously impact the lives of the people living there, even leading to serious illness due to dehydration or polluted water.

our policy

As oil fracking is a huge obstacle in our path towards an emission-free society, this policy will ensure for oil fracking to be eradicated by 2024.

We will ensure that businesses that rely on oil fracking as an energy source are slowly converting into other means of energy, such as wind power or solar panels.

When they do convert, we will provide a reward as an incentive which will benefit the company financial and economically.

how does our policy help?

Our policy helps reduce the amount of oil fracking done nationally by encouraging companies to turn to other sources of energy.

This will also boost our country towards being a more sustainable society, as the sustainable energy industry will become increasingly popular and economically beneficial.

This will also benefit those living in the NT and other destinations for oil fracking companies.
